Free transport options to get your COVID-19 vaccination

Free transport options are now available to help people in the city who have no means to get to their COVID-19 vaccination appointment get to and from their COVID-19 vaccination appointment.

Brighton and Hove city council and the local NHS are committed to ensuring residents in the city can access the COVID-19 vaccine.

That is why, as part of the ‘No one’s safe until we’re all safe’ campaign, local residents who have no means to get to their COVID-19 vaccination appointment will be able to book a free return journey to help them attend.

To book free return journeys people are asked to please book their vaccination appointment first and then call 0300 303 8060 to speak to a travel coordinator.

The booking service is available between 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. If unable to speak directly with a COVID-19 Vaccination Travel Coordinator, people are asked to leave their name and contact number, and they will be called back at the earliest opportunity.

Those who have no access to transport to attend their vaccine appointments, or who do not have a family member, friend or carer who can help with transport (they do not have to be in the same bubble as set out in government guidelines). If both of these options are not available, the Travel Coordinator will arrange transport, including any additional needs such as wheelchair-friendly vehicles.

All transport providers have signed up to a COVID-19 safety policy to ensure that all precautions are in place for a safe journey.

The government has launched the SHARE checklist to tackle the spread of false information about coronavirus and vaccinations. Recently there has been a lot of false information about coronavirus and the new vaccines designed to tackle it and it’s not always easy to spot. The SHARE checklist is an easy tool to pass on to people in your community to help them know what to look out for before they like, comment, or share information they come across online.
