Practice Manager
My role as the Practice Manager involves many things such as implementing standard policies and procedures that keep the practice running smoothly, while also responding to any unexpected issues that regularly crop up!
Staffing and scheduling fall under the role of the Practice Manager, along with other human resource requirements such as managing leave and new employees. Financial tasks will be dealt with by the Practice Manager along with our finance administrator, such as managing the revenue cycle, overseeing different budgets and ensuring that the practice has all the necessary resources to continue operating effectively.
Privacy and security management is a large and very important part of the Practice Manager’s role. I am responsible for ensuring that patient records are kept strictly confidential and overseeing the policies surrounding this area.
Understanding patient needs, providing a high level of service and seeking to improve patient satisfaction levels are all part and parcel of managing a practice and are imperative to the Broadway Surgery. Should you wish to comment or need to make a complaint about any of the services provided then please do not hesitate to contact me at the surgery.

They can assist patients by attending to them at the reception desk, booking appointments, giving prescriptions, managing incoming calls, managing the post and signposting. ‘Signposting’ means that we can find you help with a problem or issue from organisations outside of the surgery and put you in touch with them if you wish.

At the Broadway surgery, we are fortunate to have Deborah Maraisse as a member of our team. As a Reiki practitioner, Debi has a wealth of experience
In 2011, Debi established a clinic in Kemptown, Brighton. From 2014-2020, she helped children and their families at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Brighton by providing Reiki treatment. Reiki treatment is known for promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being. It can also support the body’s natural healing processes and improve emotional and mental health. Many patients report feeling a sense of calm and balance after their sessions.
Reiki treatments typically involve the practitioner gently placing their hands near the body, focusing on areas where energy may be blocked or imbalanced. While research is ongoing, some people report Reiki helping with stress reduction, anxiety, pain management, and overall well-being.
